B2B - BELGRADE INDUSTRY MEETINGS PRIZES AWARDED

This year's B2B pitching - Belgrade Industry Meetings held in the scope of this year's FEST presented 12 projects from 12 countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The projects have been selected by an international commission, out of 80 projects that have been applied from 17 countries.

After the pitching individual meetings were held with the representatives of Western film productions - producers, cinema funds representatives and international distributors. Upon the vote by the representatives of Western countries, B2B and FEST awards were extended for the development of projects, in the amount of 5000 euros to film projects from the following groups of countries: Balkan, Eastern European and Euroasian.


 

The following projects have received the development prizes:

 

PIANO ROOM from Macedonia, directed by Igor Ivanov;

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIVORCE from Georgia, by Tamara Sulamanidze,

MACHO from Kazakhstan, by Nariman Turebayev


 

Upon the realization of these films, the producers of the awarded projects committed to have their regional-Balkan premiere on a future edition of FEST, in the scope of the Europe out of Europe competition program.

We are very happy to inform you that the 4th edition of B2B Belgrade Industry Meetings will be held from February 27th - March 1st 2009.


Program and business focus of B2B are cinematographies of the Europe out of Europe countries. B2B focuses on production, authors and films with the origin geographically in Europe, but still not enough intensely included in European integrative currents, also in countries outside Europe with strong European influence and heritage - Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.


During one weekend, B2B will become a gathering place for directors, producers, financiers, exhibitors, distributors, representatives of ministries of culture and film centers from the above mentioned countries, together with representatives of film funds and production companies from Western Europe. B2B will give the professionals - independent producers, fund representatives, distributors, representatives of the festivals, TV buyers - possibility to take deep insight in cinematography and production possibilities in these countries.


During our 3rd edition twelve authors/producers had a chance to present projects from eleven countries (Albania, Armenia, Croatia, Georgia, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine). Three best projects ("Jujube’s Perfume” by Mirlan Abdykalykov, Kyrgyzstan, “I’m going to change my name” by Maria Saakyan, Russia and "No one’s child" by Marko Sopic and Vuk Rsumovic, Serbia) were awarded with 7.000€ each.


This year, 12 projects coming from 20 countries of the region, will be presented during the pitching session, in three sections: East-European (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova Russia and Ukraine), Euro-Asian (Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) and Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia). Award of 5.000 € will be given to the best project of each section.


We are looking for feature film projects in development phase!

This year we will have two new sections: Focus on Georgia, which will be opportunity for to learn about its cinematography, shooting locations, possibilities for co-productions.


As a part of this presentation, there will be also presentation of new Georgian projects with international coproduction potential. Together with B2B traditional programme Serbia Special - a presentation of new Serbian projects these two presentations will be the possibility to meet authors during one-to-one meetings.
And, of course, one-to-one meetings will be held with representatives of 12 projects.
