FEST GUEST OF HONOUR: DOMINIQUE BLANC

One of the most esteemed French actresses of today, Dominique Blanc, landed to FEST yesterday, straight to the press conference. The winner of four Cesar awards is present with two films – One Day You’ll Understand and the Other Woman. After the screening of the latter, Ms. Blanc addressed the audience in Sava Centar.

„I defend Anne Marie and I love Anne Marie. I am always in love in the characters I play, for this is necessary in my line of work. I see myself as their advocate. She is a free woman, a social worker wanting to begin a new life, but she becomes jealous and jealousy is a variation of desire. She is a wholesome woman who is slowly consumed by madness. This film is important because it is showing how one can become mad“ said Dominique Blanc on the press conference of the 37th FEST, speaking of her character in the film The Other Woman.

Tonight, Ms. Blanc will perform in „The Pain“ by Patrice Cheraud in the Yugoslav Theatre of Drama, based on parts of the novel of Marguerite Duras:

„This play is taking place in April 1945 and describes a woman waiting for her man to come back from the camps. She is ready to die waiting. I am playing a young Marguerite Duras, who differs greatly from the one we got to know later“, said Dominique Blanc, inviting everyone interested to see „The Pain“ tonight in the Yugoslav Theatre of Drama.
