„THE PAIN“ OF MARGARETE DURAS BY DOMINIQUE BLANC IN THE YUGOSLAV THEATRE OF DRAMA

The „Ljuba Tadic“ stage of the Yugoslav Theatre of Drama saw last night the performance of „The Pain“ by Patrice Chereau and Thierry Thieu Niang. The monodrama was performed by the 37th FEST guest of honour Dominique Blanc.

„The Pain“ is based on the autobiographic story of Margarete Duras, a diary of her husband’s painful absence, her awaiting full of threats, between hope and despair, at the time of the liberation of the concentration camps. It is one of the most tragic texts of post-war literature.
