Program

During the Second World War, the German occupiers buried 1.5 million tones of land mines along Denmark's western coast, an explosive barrier in the event of an allied invasion. Once the war was over, thousands of German prisoners of war had to remain behind and clear the beaches from these mines. Towards the end of the war, the Wehrmacht in desperation recruited very young men and Sergeant Rasmussen, in charge of a group of prisoners, has a hard time maintaining his antagonism against an enemy force represented by boys young enough to be his sons in this highly lethal operation.
