ACTOR, CROATIA, JURY PRESIDENT
Goran Bogdan is a Croatian theatre, film and TV actor. He developed interest in acting already as a teenager, as a member of amateur acting troups. He graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. In 2010 he joined the Zagreb Youth Theatre, and he created many roles in the plays which were performed all over the world. As a guest, he works in other Croatian theatres.
He has so far filmed many TV and film roles. Bogdan is the most recognisable to the audiences in Serbia thanks to his roles in the films We Will Be the World Champions, Transmania (A Twisted Game) and Agape, as well as TV series Prvaci sveta and Black Sun. He was also involved in international productions: he had one of the principal roles in the French-British crime mini-series The Last Panthers (2015) and he also had a recurring role in the third season of the American TV series Fargo.
Goran Bogdan was a jury member at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2017.
Nada Šargin is a Principal drama artist of the National Theatre in Belgrade. She studied acting with Professor Vida Ognjanović at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. She created a number of memorable theatre roles, on the stages of the most important theatres in the country, including the National Theatre (Mileva Einstein, The Cherry Orchard, En Folkefiende, The squabbles at Chioggia, The Marriage and Divorce of Figaro, Life is a Dream, Mother Courage and Her Children, Ivanov, Electra etc.), Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad (The Seagull, Torquato Tasso), Yugoslav Drama Theatre (The Lower Depths, Molière - Another Life), “Boško Buha” Theatre, Atelje 212, Youth Theatre Novi Sad, “Joakim Vujić” Theatre et al.
She is also in high demand in film and TV projects, with notable film roles in Žurka, A Tailor’s Secret, Tomorrow Morning, Tears for Sale, Miloš Branković, Will Not End Here, The Woman With a Broken Nose, Practical guide to Belgrade with Singing and Crying, The Sky Above Us, Homeland and in TV series Vratiće se rode, Folk, Jagodići, Ulica lipa, Vere i zavere and Nemanjić Dynasty - Birth of a Kingdom. She has received numerous accolades for her work.
Ioana Uricaru is born and raised in Romania, she studied biology before turning to film. She graduated with a masters in film and television production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in California, followed by a PhD in critical studies at the same institution. She is an alumna of the 2008 Berlinale Talents. She has also participated in the Cinéfondation Residence in Cannes, the Sundance Directors Lab and the Torino Film Lab. In 2016 she received a fellowship from the American Academy in Berlin.
Her well-received feature debut Lemonade premiered at the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival 2018 and it was subsequently screened in many other festivals worldwide.
Sanja Vejnović was born in Zagreb. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb, Department of Croatian studies, and she also studied Yugoslav languages and literature. Her acting career began already in her teens, with the role in a made-for-TV film Dugo putovanje u bijelo. Ever since, she has worked extensively, with over 50 film and TV roles many of which principal, in Banović Strahinja, Varljivo leto ’68, Visoki napon, O pokojniku sve najlepše, 100 minuta Slave, Twice born, S mamom, Ponos Ratkajevih, Kud puklo da puklo, etc. She produced five fiction films and she was a casting director of many foreign films.
She founded the first actors’ agency in Croatia - Kvadar. She is also the founder of the production house Fos film and the co-founder of the acting studio StudioChekhov Croatia.
DIRECTOR AND SCREENWRITER, SERBIA
Bojan Vuletić is a Serbian director, writer and assistant director, born in 1977 in Belgrade. He established himself as a filmmaker in Serbia in 2011 with his well-received film Practical guide to Belgrade with Singing and Crying. His sophomore film Requiem for Mrs. J premiered at the Panorama selection of the Berlin International Film Festival 2017 and immediately after that it became the absolute winner of the 45th FEST in the competition programme Serbian Film (Belgrade Victor - Best Film; Jury prize - Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director; “Milutin Čolić” Politika Award - Best Film). The film was subsequently shown in prestigeous festivals in Karlovy Vary, Sofia etc. (FIPRESCI Award - Best Film) etc. and it received excellent reviews in the international film press (The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, etc.).
