New Year’s Eve. Izumi finds his mother Yuriko wandering in a park in the freezing cold. Diagnosed with dementia, her mind quickly begins to fade. Yet, for her son, memories of the mother who raised him on her own feel as vivid as when he lived them. One in particular, when he believed she had disappeared, haunts him terribly. As Yuriko slips slowly into oblivion, Izumi must come to terms with losing his mother again, this time forever.

GENKI KAWAMURA
Genki Kawamura (Yokohama 1979) is a Japanese writer, producer, director and screenwriter. In 2012 he published his novel If Cats Disappeared from the World which became a bestseller and has appeared in translation in 21 countries. Kawamura directed his first short film, Duality (2018) which was selected by the Cannes Film Festival for its Short Films In Competition. His feature film debut, A Hundred Flowers (2022), based on the novel he published in 2019, premiereed in competition at San Sebastian Film Festival and won Silver Shell for Best Director.
