FATIH AKIN
Fatih Akin (Hamburg, 1973) is a German film director, screenwriter and producer. He attended the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg to study visual communications and graduated in 2000. He directed his first short feature, Sensin - You're the One! (1995), which received the Audience Award at the Hamburg International Short Film Festival. His second short film Weed (1996) received several national and international festival prizes. His first full length feature film, Short Sharp Shock (1998) won the Bronze Leopard at Locarno and the Bavarian Film Award. His other films include: Solino (2002), Head-On (2004, Berlinale, Golden Bear), The Edge of Heaven (2007, Cannes, Best Screenplay), and the film In the Fade (2017), the winner of the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.
