Zrinko Ogresta is a Croatian film director and screenwriter, PhD of arts, professor of film directing at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and a member of the European Film Academy. He is the author of full-length feature films of an intimate and psychological orientation, which were screened and awarded at prestigious international and local festivals (Berlin, Venice, Karlovy Vary, London, Montpellier, Haifa, Denver, Milan, Pula, Moscow...). Of particular note are the nomination for the European Film Award for the film Fragments (1991) in the debut film category, the prestigious world TV award Prix Italia for the film Washed Out (1995), the Silver Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival for the film Here (2003) and a Special Award at Berlinale for the film On the Other Side (2016). Of his eight full-length feature films, even four were awarded the Great Golden Arena Award for the Best Film at the Pula Film Festival: Washed Out (1995), Here (2003), On the Other Side (2016), A Blue Flower (2021). Film On the Other Side (2016) won Belgrade Victor Award at the 44th Belgrade International Film Festival FEST 2016 for the Best Film in minority Serbian co-production.
