Sylvia has worked hard to create a stable life for herself and her teenage daughter. She regularly attends her AA meetings and is dedicated to her job. But her carefully constructed routine gets disrupted when she has an off-putting encounter with a dementia patient named Saul. This chance encounter reverberates through both of their lives, opening new possibilities for their future.

Michel Franco (Mexico City, 1979) earned a degree in film direction from the New York Film Academy and began his career as a director of short films. His first feature, Daniel & Ana (2009) was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes and with his second film, After Lucia (2012) he landed an award in Un Certain Regard. He co-directed his third film, Through the Eyes (2013) with his sister, Victoria Franco. Chronic (2105) won the Best Screenplay Award at the Official Selection at Cannes, and April‘s Daughter (2017) won Special Jury Prize in Un Certain Regard. New Order (2020) won Grand Jury Prize at Venice.
